On this Christmas Eve, I wanted to share one more short reflection with you from The Spiritual Eyes Series. What a great service we had this evening.
Tonight, many of us are thinking about candles, carols, and the wonder of Christ’s birth. And that word wonder is exactly where my heart has been led.
The Bible uses a big word over and over to describe God and His work in our lives:
Glory.
For a long time, that word didn’t really get me.
It just meant something good… something religious… something distant…something BIG.
Then the Spirit gently whispered to my heart:
“Use the word WOW.”
Suddenly, glory moved from my head to my heart.
“The heavens declare the glory of God…”
The heavens declare the WOW of God.
“The whole earth is full of His glory!”
The whole earth is full of His WOW.
Glory is that holy WOW we feel when we see what only God can do —
in creation,
in prophecy fulfilled,
and in lives being transformed.
Scripture tells us that as we behold the glory of the Lord,
we are being changed — from one degree of glory to another.
From one WOW to the next.
And here is the greatest WOW of all:
Christ in you.
The hope — the great expectation — of glory or WOW!
That means Christmas didn’t just bring a Savior into the world.
It brought Christ into us who receive Him.
What a WOW.
My prayer for you this Christmas Eve and into 2026 is simple:
May your heart be filled with fresh WOWs of the Lord.
May you see His kindness, His faithfulness, and His nearness.
And may your joy and comfort deepen as you behold His glory.
As we continue celebrating together, I want to invite you to our last service of the year on Sunday, December 28.
Please come early at 10:00 am and enjoy muffins, donuts, and good fellowship together as a church family.
At 10:30 am, we’ll gather for a short family service with songs and prayer, and then we’ll dismiss.
It will be a simple, joyful way to close the year together —
beholding His glory and saying once more, WOW!
With kindness and great expectations in Christ,
John Ball
